Actame Isotretinoin

Actame 10 MG Tablet is a medicine used to treat severe recalcitrant nodular acne (a severe form of acne characterised by large, inflamed, painful acne lesions in the deep layers of the skin) that does not respond to standard treatments with oral antibacterials and topical medicines. It works by reducing the production of an oily substance called sebum that causes acne. It also decreases the redness and swelling associated with acne. Actame 10 MG Tablet can cause some side effects like cracked lips, dry eyes, dryness of the nose, dry skin, rash, etc. It may make your skin sensitive to sunlight, so avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen while going out in the sun. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Actame 10 MG Tablet should be taken with food or as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose. It may take a few weeks to see improvement in your condition, so do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Actame 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 years. This medicine should be used with caution if you have liver problems. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience side effects like changes in mood or behaviour, or suicidal thoughts. Actame 10 MG Tablet is unsafe for use during pregnancy as it may cause harm to your foetus. Hence consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.

The therapy should be started with 0.5 mg/kg body weight in 2 divided doses for 15-20 weeks. The maximum dose is 2 mg/kg body weight daily. There should be an interval of at least 2 months before restarting treatment.
